She rejoined Mondi in March 2021 as Business Development Manager for Functional Films in Mondi Gronau, Germany, and subsequently managed the Industry Group for Functional Barrier Papers until her recent role change.

Before her career in extrusion coating technology, Silvia worked at Milliken Chemicals BVBA for nine years in various technical and sales positions, where she was responsible for the sales of clarifiers and nucleating agents to major polyolefin producers in Western Europe and Central and Eastern Europe.

Prior to starting her career in the private sector, Silvia worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials Group at Ghent University in Belgium.

Roman is an accomplished executive with a distinguished career in the paper and packaging industry. At just 35, he was appointed President of Mondi SCP, a.s., in Ružomberok, Slovakia, leading a company with 1,600 employees and an annual turnover of EUR 500 million. Under his leadership, productivity increased by 50%, the company won four prestigious global PPI Awards, employee satisfaction reached an impressive 85%, and strategic investments of approximately EUR 300 million were executed.

His success continued at Mondi Štětí a.s., where he spearheaded the EUR 375 million EcoFlex project and reorganized operations, boosting production by 30%. His strategic vision led to the approval of further growth investments worth tens of millions of euros.

Recognized for his outstanding contributions, he was honored among the six best CEOs in the global paper industry by the RISI Global Awards in 2014. Since April 2023, he has been serving as the Chief Operating Officer of Mondi’s Kraft Paper segment, overseeing five manufacturing companies and global sales of EUR 1.4 billion.

He holds a degree from the University of Mining and Metallurgy – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Finance.

Susan Brunner is the head of product sustainability & positioning for Mondi Group, with nearly twenty years of experience in the packaging and paper industry. Her passion is sustainability in all its facets and breaking down complex topics to convey credible and convincing messages and help colleagues and customers make informed decisions on sustainable packaging and paper solutions. In this global role, she leads a team of experts engaging on circularity and life cycle analysis of product impacts, sustainability reporting and communications, and Mondi’s internal Sustainable Development Academy. Susan is also currently Co-Chair of 4evergreen, a cross-value chain alliance of 110 companies working to perfect the circularity of fibre-based packaging. 
 
 A native of New York, Susan has a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University in New York, an Executive MBA from Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of Minnesota, and a post-graduate certificate in sustainability leadership from Cambridge University in England. 

Tim is Group Head of Public Affairs at Mondi. He represents the Group’s interests towards European decision makers, on priority policies such as Packaging, Energy, wood sourcing and chemical legislations.

He’s a seasoned international Government and Public Affairs leader with over 18 years political know-how in many geographies (China, USA, UK and EU), promoting and advocating sound policy development in various sectors such as transport & communication (Royal Mail PLC), manufacturing (British American Tobacco PLC), retail (Tesco PLC) and financial services.

He holds master's degrees in public administration (Rotterdam University) and Business Administration (WU Vienna).

In his free time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and developing digital applications that analyse public policy.

With over a decade of international experience, including significant work in China where she started her career in packaging and led initiatives to reduce single-use plastics in e-commerce, alongside roles in France, India, Colombia, and the USA, she holds a Masters in International Business and specialized in Circular Economies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She’s known for her hands-on work with cutting-edge materials and machinery, as well as her role in building strong, mission-driven teams. Katja has presented at leading industry events and played a key role in expanding awareness of sustainable packaging practices.

Beyond her corporate career, she is actively involved in climate advocacy, having participated in scientific expeditions to polar regions to support environmental awareness. She also serves in an advisory capacity for a start-up developing wood-based alternatives, reflecting her strong commitment to circular economy principles.

She holds a Master of Science in Engineering from Tampere University of Technology.

Selma Kefi rejoined Mondi in 2024 as the Market Intelligence Manager. Her primary responsibility is to provide strategic support to the segment, focusing on both core and new business areas, including sack kraft paper and specialty kraft paper. With over 10 years of experience in the paper industry and data analytics, Selma began her professional journey in France, working as a Market Analyst at Nielsen IQ, she developed a strong foundation in market research and analysis, enabling her to support clients with valuable insights that guided their business strategies. In 2016, she joined Mondi UFP for the first time, where she held a customer-facing role, gaining extensive experience in managing customer relationships and understanding the challenges of the paper industry. Before rejoining Mondi, Selma worked in Market Intelligence in the board and paper industry.

She has spent most of her career in product development and project management, leading multicultural teams, fostering intracompany collaboration and supporting customers on their sustainability journey. With two engineering degrees from Greece and US and a recent Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi in Italy, Eirini understands the technical, operational and business challenges of global organizations and has been devoted for almost 2 decades to deliver new sustainable packaging solutions to customers. In her latest appointment as Application Engineering Platform Leader, she is also managing the relationships with strategic OEMs, following market trends, developing new concepts and commonly promoting new packaging ideas.

Philipp Ertl is a mechanical engineer who studied at the Technical University of Graz and completed a diploma thesis in collaboration with BMW Motoren GmbH Steyr. He worked as a development engineer at BMW Steyr before co-founding EW-TEC with Patrick Wagner in 2017. Ertl passed a qualification examination for the management of a state-certified engineering office in 2018, and pursued part-time training as an International Welding Engineer at Graz University of Technology between 2020 and 2022. He currently co-manages EW Technology and is involved in a joint project with Mondi AG to develop new and sustainable paper pallet wrapping technology.

Leo is the head of Group R&D MondiLabs. He and his team have been involved in pulp and paper technology research for many years. In his role as Head of Research, he is shaping an international network for collaboration between engineers, scientists, students and industry specialists to develop energy and resource efficient process technologies for the pulp and paper industry. 

Leo holds a master's degree in process engineering with a focus on pulp and paper technology from Graz University of Technology and an international MBA from IE in Madrid. During his career he has also gained experience in the wood-based panel industry and mechanical engineering.

With more than 25 years of experience within Mondi Kraft Paper, Reinhard has deep-rooted expertise around paper based packaging solutions. He started as an apprentice as Paper Technician at Mondi Frantschach in 1997, and worked for the mill in different positions in production and quality. With a broad experience in paper production, quality control, quality management as well as product innovation, he expanded his horizon and worked as local TSS Mondi Frantschach since 2008. In 2015, Reinhard took over the role as Quality Manager as well as Head of TSS Mondi Frantschach, and gathered great know-how in the Speciality Kraft Paper business until today. 
In 2022 Reinhard took over the position as Head of Technical Sales for Speciality Kraft Paper and is coordinating TSS duties and activities within the Kraft Paper Mills in Mondi.

Alexander is the Artificial Intelligence Lead at Mondi. He specializes in leveraging data science and machine learning to drive operational improvements and sustainability across diverse industrial applications. Passionate about technology's role in business development, Alexander leads a dynamic team focused on predictive modeling, process optimization, and digital solutions. Holding a degree in statistics, Alexander is committed to creating impactful solutions from advancing technology.

Prof. Štefan Boháček, PhD., is the Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Pulp and Paper Research Institute in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he has led research and innovation since 1997. With a PhD in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the Slovak University of Technology, he has also studied at The University of Manchester’s Institute of Science and Technology. Recognized for his contributions to science and industry, he has received awards such as the "Golden Biatec 2010" and the Vice Prime Minister’s Prize for Science and Technology in 2006. Boháček actively shapes the European pulp and paper sector through leadership roles in CEPI, EUCEPA, and various industrial organizations.

André is VP Global Marketing Protective Packaging Solutions at Ranpak. He is driving innovation in paper-based cushioning, void fill, wrapping and cold chain product offering. Ranpak engages in the provision of product protection and end-of-line automation solutions for e-commerce and industrial supply chains and is the first global producer of 100% sustainable, paper-based packaging. Before joining Ranpak, Andre spent 22 years in international assignments in China, France, and USA in at Philips and Assa Abloy. He holds a Master in Industrial Engineering (TU Enschede).
